When The Dough Club offered us the opportunity to try out their new Mochi Waffle Mix and gave us the choice of Matcha, Ube, or Chocolate I quickly volunteered before any of the other Pop Up Girls could. It's matcha and mochi together, the dessert experience doesn't get better.
The waffles are super easy to make! For reference, I can't cook things that aren't pasta, so trust me it was that easy. My only setback was my waffle maker doesn't close properly, so I learned the hard way to pour in less batter for the edges of the waffle to cook better. Waffle maker issue aside, a gentle pour is best anyway because these waffles are insanely filling!
Taste wise, if you're a mochi fan you'll love this mix. I tried the matcha flavor because I'm matcha obsessed and it did not disappoint. I've tried a mochi waffle before, but matcha flavor is an experience of it's own. It paired wonderfully with the strawberries, maple syrup, powdered sugar, and whipped cream. I also tried it with butter pecan ice cream (not featured in video) and it was game changing, so delicious!
At only $7.95 the mix is definitely a steal! I've made waffles from the same package three or four times now and I still have mix left. It's a great switch up to my normal dessert routine, so I'll definitely be purchasing it again. Maybe I'll try the ube flavor next! However, I want you to try it with me.
